What is Menarche?

A menarche is when a girl has her first menstruation.  It is a time
of celebration, welcoming a young girl into womanhood. 

As soon as your daughter tells you she’s started her menstrual, sign her
up to attend the next Celebrate Puberty Menarche Session. 

Our Menarche learning session is held once a month for girls who have recently started their menstruation.  The menarche session is a positive experience because it:  

• Celebrates a girl’s journey into womanhood;
• Is a party-style learning experience with decorations, cake, food, etc;
• Increases bonding thru Mother-daughter activities;  
• Builds new relationships with other girls;
• Offers girls advice and stories from older women;
• Includes games like menstrual trivia and pin the ovaries on the uterus;
• Is a relaxed atmosphere with open communication on menstrual issues;  
• Decreases the embarrassment experienced when talking about menstrual issues;
• Creates a lifetime of memories for you and your daughter
